About the DeRoses
Anthony DeRose graduated from Seton Hall University in 1972, with a degree in finance. He worked on Wall street for many years, and was a First Vice President with Shearson Lehman Brothers. Anthony’s grandfather, Anthony Garrubbo, was in construction, and one of the projects he was responsible for was enlarging the Holland Tunnel. Anthony decided to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps, and began building homes, starting with his own, in Bernardsville, New Jersey, in 1980. Anthony is known for his intense attention to detail, and the exquisite trim he puts into every home. One of his favorite quotes is “Perfection is no accident,” and the quality of his workmanship is the proof.
Mary Beth DeRose knew she wanted to help people at a very early age. She set out to pursue a B.S. degree in Nursing from a world-class, higher education institution in New York. Mary Beth graduated from Niagara University in 1974 and took a nursing position at the Roswell Park Memorial Institution in Buffalo, NY. She later accepted a position at the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. In 1978, Mary Beth and Anthony DeRose were married and decided to begin their family. She worked part-time with Anthony in the family business in the early 90’s, and gradually became an integral part in the company.
To substantiate her knowledge in the industry, Mary Beth decided to further her education and in 2006 she completed her training to become a Class A builder. Mary Beth is available to accompany and assist all of their customers with making the many selections necessary during the building process. It’s worth noting that Mary Beth’s family has been in the business for years. Her grandfather, Christopher Carven, an architect, worked on the team that designed the Verrazano Bridge in New York and the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel in Norfolk, Virginia.
